Both Kid Tech locations have classrooms
for each age group served.
Infants
The staff
of our infant program will quickly become more than just your child's
caregiver. They will become a part of your family. Use them as a
knowledgeable resource as you discover the joys of parenthood. More
than likely, any problem or concern you can imagine, they have helped
another child or parent get through it.
In this
program, each infant is assigned their own crib and storage area. As
they grow from a helpless, fully dependent newborn to an active, sitting,
crawling, standing, "pre-toddler" we will read to them, introduce colors and
shapes, introduce sign language, assist you every way possible through this
first year, and cheer with you when we see those first
steps.

Toddlers
Toddlers
are much more physically active than Infants. Toddlers learn by
moving, playing, and experimenting. Children entering this
program will be standing, taking a few steps, sitting well, eating soft
table food, drinking whole milk from a "sippy cup", working toward a one-nap
schedule, and leaving the crib behind and moving to a cot. After
all, we're big kids now.
Toddlers
are introduced to the child center concept; however they still have
tendencies to be a "group". Language development begins with Toddlers.
Children are encouraged to talk through conversations, songs, nursery
rhymes, finger plays, and books. Activities include group reading,
working with letters, sounds, numbers, shapes, textures, and art projects.
The use of proper English is important to Kid Tech.
Each
child is assigned a cubby storage space to keep an extra change of clothes
handy, store other personal belongings, and act as our internal mailbox for
any written correspondence and of course "art-work".

Twos
"Terrific
Twos"! (Most parents only refer to "terrible twos" if they have not
yet had a 3 year old!) We're ACTIVE now. A two year old has
boundless energy.
These children are
eating more (a few of our twos usually eat the most during our annual summer
watermelon party), running and playing more, and improving their vocal skills.
Two year
olds further utilize the child centered learning environment; however two year olds
still have a tendency to be a "group". Centers are defined as
different areas in the room that have different activities going on, and
learning through a "hands on approach". A child can explore various
centers while developing independence. Through Kid Tech's curriculum a
child will learn nursery rhymes, shapes, colors, poems, songs, letters of
the alphabet, numbers, independent thinking, self expression, following
directions, socialization, and sensory. Two year olds also begin to
learn the meaning of sharing and getting along with others.
Fine
motor skills are developed through art projects, puzzles, and building toys.
Gross motor skills are developed through bike day, playground time,
running, hopping, and many other physical activities. The children go
outside daily so please remember to dress them appropriately.

Pre-School
These 3 and 4 year olds are beginning to group with their school year
classmates. Throughout this phase of our program they are working to quickly identify letters
and the letter sound, numbers, colors, and
recognize letters of their name. Physical, social, creative,
emotional, and intellectual stimulation are all part of everyday activities.
The child centered learning activity is practiced with every activity.
The children continue to learn through the hands on approach and doing it
themselves.
Preschool
children are beginning to improve fine motor skills by holding pencils while
tracing letters, numbers, and shapes. They are beginning to stay in
lines while coloring. Art projects teach them to use scissors and
glue.
Through
Kid Tech's curriculum preschool children are introduced to science and
computers. Science experiments allow the children to begin exploring
their world in many aspects. Each class has computer time weekly.

Jr. Kindergarten
This
group of 4 and 5 year olds are making preparations for Kindergarten and the
rest of their lives. The child centered activities are being utilized
with every activity. These classrooms are BUSY!!
Children
are improving their fine motor skills by holding pencils and writing their
names, numbers, and letters. They are working independently on
activity sheets.
Children are improving their social skills, following
directions, and helping in the classroom.
The
children are expanding their puzzle and
dimensional reasoning skills, learning basic math concepts beyond number
recognition, and learning sequencing and problem solving skills.
All
children are learning through a hands on approach. Science experiments
are discussed in more detail and computer classes are held weekly.
In our
Jr. Kindergarten classes the children are introduced to Spanish. Spanish
classes are held weekly.
By the
end of the school year children are beginning to phonetically put letters
together and read simple words.

School Age Extended Care
Kid Tech
offers a before and after school program during the school year, including
transportation to and from the 5 Collierville Elementary Schools
(Collierville, Tara Oaks, Crosswinds, Sycamore, and Bailey Station). Transportation is
provided on our school buses, and our policies and practices
insure our consistent operation and safe delivery of our children to their
destinations.
In the
Before/After School program, children are allowed to visit and play in the
mornings (breakfast is provided before 7:30) until time to depart for
school. In the afternoon, we encourage and help with homework (after a
snack, of course) so you can have more family time after you pick up.
When the
public schools are not in session (summer, fall break, spring break, etc.),
we offer full-day services as a continuation of your enrollment. Our
"School's Out!" program is full of interesting and exciting activities.
This way, your child is taken care of and you have care and peace of mind
year-round as needed.

Summer
Camp (Kindergarten - 12 years)
Our
summer camp is a blast! The children have many activities brought to
them such as a magician, face painting, Wildlife On Wheels (Memphis Zoo), musician, ice cream truck, and the list goes on. They
also have activities ranging from art projects to car washes.
The
children go on field trips to local attractions such as the Malco theater,
water park, bowling, gymnastics, and the library.
The
children have "Fun Fridays". There is a theme for the day. The
children play games, listen to music, art projects, and eat pizza for lunch.
Kid
Tech's philosophy is education based so the children do have a daily reading
time of approximately 30 to 45 minutes. We do not want the students to
slip backwards in their reading skills over the summer.
Summer
camp is where friendships are formed throughout the camp and children come
back summer after summer.
