We take great pride in this
page of our website. Following are some of our key senior staff
members who have over 5 years of dedicated service at Kid Tech.
Some have even achieved the
10 year mark!!!

Steve and Debbie Kimes are the creators and owners of Kid Tech. Both are graduates
of University of Missouri - Rolla with Engineering degrees and over 15
years of managing projects and business interests before starting Kid
Tech in 1999. The concept of Kid Tech came from the birth of our own children
and wanting the best for them. Our two boys have grown up
at Kid Tech.
Since opening Kid Tech, in addition to keeping their
operating and educational philosophy and beliefs reinforced on a daily
basis, they have adapted the skills of their previous careers to manage
the requirements of state regulations, human resources, insurance,
accounting, legal, building and site maintenance, as well as involvement in the state legislative process.
Jamie Calhoun is a graduate of Mississippi
State University and has worked with children for about 20 years.
She has been with Kid Tech since 1999. Ms. Jamie is responsible for staff training, overall building activities, and social
events such as Jr. Kindergarten graduation, Christmas programs, Fall
Feast programs, and the list keeps going on.
Velvet Corliss has
over 25 years of experience
with children and particularly loves her PreSchool class. She has
been with Kid Tech since opening in November, 1999. She enjoys
spending time with her family, including 3 grandchildren.
Debra
Brewer (Debo to all of the kids)
has been a part of Kid Tech since 2000, and exhibits the full "Spirit" of Kid Tech.
She spent several years in the Infant room, and understands the value of
that special bond with kids and parents. She is the mother of 3 grown
children. Her daughter, Ashley, also works at Kid Tech. Her youngest
son is now proudly serving in the US Army, but more importantly has her
first grandson. (she always has pictures if you are interested)
She still keeps in touch with some of
her past families and has been known to travel as far as Colorado to go
see them! Her
current position is Director of KT1, responsible for all staff
scheduling, as well as all aspects of daily operations.
Hattie Ford has been our cook
at KT1 since 2000.
She takes great pride in her kitchen and consistently scores in the high
90's or 100 on Health Department inspections. Ms. Hattie is
welcomed daily to the classrooms by cheering children when delivering
snacks and meals. Many parents have commented that their children
eat the best meal of the day at Kid Tech, and make comments like "wish
you could cook as good as Ms. Hattie". Sorry, parents, her recipe
for meatloaf and mashed potatoes to feed 200 kids is top secret!
Sharon Scerbo
has been with Kid Tech since 2001. Sharon has worked in various age groups over the years. In spite of her Brooklyn, NY accent, she has
proven herself to be part of the Kid Tech family.

Cynthia Leigh joined Kid Tech in 2002.
She also is a proud parent and grandparent. She has worked in various
age groups but primarily serves as one of the building openers and is
very consistent in making her 6:00 am appearance to start the day for
School Age and Preschool kids.

Etta Oliver joined Kid Tech in 2002. As
a retired school teacher who just can't quit teaching, she is one of our
excellent Jr. Kindergarten teachers for four and five year olds.
Her experience, work ethic, and maturity in general make her a very
valuable part of our team.
Kim Colvin has been a part of Kid Tech since
2004. She has worn several hats during this time, but mostly as a
Jr. Kindergarten teacher. When you first meet Kim, it is like you
have known her forever. Her very outgoing personality helps her
make instant connections with kids and parents. (Self proclaimed
"Miss Kid Tech" one Halloween)
Heidi Webster joined Kid Tech in 2004.
She has spent nearly all of this time in Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten.
Her patience and mellow tone work well with this age group, and we look
forward to watching her make new friends each year.
Amber Claunch has been a part of Kid Tech
since 2004. While finishing her degree at U of M, she worked part
time and through the summers at Kid Tech. It will take a while for
us to get used to the new name after her recent marriage - we all know
her as Amber Cockrell. Best wishes to her as she ventures into the
next stage of life with a family of her own.
Gabriel the Rabbit was adopted into
the Kid Tech family in
2000. He lives in the School Age room and shares it
with the kids as long as they behave. His favorite foods are
carrots, broccoli, and cheerios. Gabriel is getting very old, and
his health is fading but we still look forward to seeing him everyday.
